referring to Water WeekGiven the timing of the Water Festival event and the shiny Magikarp, it seems safe to call this Pokemon GO nest migration a success. The latest Pokemon GO nest migration begins, just in time to coincide with the recently announced Water Festival event. The migration, plus the Water Festival event, has lead to fans finding a shiny Magikarp, which is great. Since the Water Festival event is only going to last a week, players better hope to find a shiny Magikarp soon. Still, fans seem to be having a blast with the Water Festival event, which is set to go for a week.

Pokemon Go Gets Wet With a Limited-Time Water Festival – Adweek
Niantic is celebrating Water-type Pokemon in Pokemon Go with a limited-time Water Festival, which will give players a better chance of encountering certain Water-type Pokemon while playing the game. The Water Festival will begin Wednesday (March 22) at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. The Water Festival is the game's second update this week. In addition, when users are near areas where Water-type Pokemon are already more common, they'll have a greater chance of encountering "several" of the Water-type Pokemon introduced in the Johto region update earlier this year. During this event, players around the world will be more likely to encounter Magikarp, Squirtle, Totodile and their evolutions while playing.

Pokemon GO Water Festival event kicks off with more water-type Pokemons appearing in their habitat
In its latest update celebrating the Water Festival event, the game developer will be spawning more water-type Pokemons in their common habitat. As part of the Water event, Pokemon GO players can also access a Magikarp Hat, as their new avatar wardrobe item. Additionally, the number of these water Pokemons will go up during the evolution of basic monsters. Pokemon trainers will get the opportunity to capture more Water-type Pokemons including Magikarp, Squirtle, Totodile, Lapras and others, starting 22 March at 1:00 pm PDT. All these goodies and event bonuses will be accessible until 29 March, 1:00 pm PDT.
