as declared in Nintendo's stock closed today at a nearly 10 year high, surpassing its performance during the Pokemon Go craze. The New Anti-Cheat System In Pokemon Go Has Made Rare Pokemon Impossible To Find
Niantic Labs put in a new server-side security measure over the weekend which means that previously flagged accounts can no longer see rare pokemon. So anyone caught using bots or third-party trackers to catch rare Pokemon will be unable to find them. Still, we can't help but be in slight aw at Niantic's attempt to prevent cheaters from catching rare pokemon, because no one wants a cheater to be the very best. The normal account can see a Geodude, Kabuto, and Venonat nearby, while the flagged account can only see the Geodude. Despite the ingenious solution, Pokemon Go Hub reports that the measure is easily bypassed by simply making a new account.

Pokemon Go also recently randomized encounters to take away tracking systems' abilities to scan for high IVs (secret stats that separate strong Pokemon from weak Pokemon within the same species) and specific movesets. Instead of outright banning players for gaming the system, Pokemon Go is instead cutting them off at the kneecaps. Of course, none of these methods really fix the true bane of Pokemon Go: GPS spoofing, but it's nice to see Niantic actively working to improve Pokemon Go so that all players can enjoy the game. We're committed to maintaining the state of Pokémon GO and our community of Trainers. This might be one of the more clever forms of punishing cheaters we've ever seen.
