Pokemon Go's last event, the Worldwide Bloom, increased the appearance of Grass-type Pokemon, but did not enhance the chances of finding any particularly rare Pokemon. Adventure Week starts at 1 p.m. PT on May 18, with festivities lasting a full week until 1 p.m. PT on May 25. Niantic's post said the Pokemon Go Adventure Week is meant to honor the memories players have formed on their collective journey since Pokemon Go's launch July last year.

The Adventure Week event will run from 1 p.m. PT May 18 to 1 p.m. PT May 25. To celebrate, developer Niantic will launch an "Adventure Week" event in the game May 18. This event also includes increased encounter rates for uncommon Rock-type Pokemon like Aerodactyl, Onix and Sudowoodo. Finally, for the duration of this event, players will receive more items from every PokeStop they visit.
