Trainers Completed Pokémon GO's Global Research Challenge, Unlocking The Grand Prize

referring to Research tasks are a new addition to the game, and completing them is a little more complicated than last year's relatively straightforward Global Catch Challenge. Still, worldwide trainers handled their mission with aplomb, particularly the Asia/Pacific region, which managed its goal before those in the Americas had much of a chance to wake up. And now we've unlocked the final reward for this stage of Pokémon GO's summer tour: a chance at a Shiny Articuno next Saturday, July 7. That's mostly all I ask out of an event like this: that the rewards are enticing enough to bring people out to play. From what I can tell, the prize for July 7 if all goals are met is the return of Articuno as a raid boss for a three hour window.

It might be the case where GO Fest attendees get access to Celebi first, and then the quest opens up to the wider world. Whatever is causing it, the local park habitat here is quite disrupted by all the changes. The local Pokémon have become confused… It looks like they're acting more aggressive and territorial! It would be sort of weird to have all this same dialogue with a non-GO Fest quest, given how specific it is, but perhaps it will change.
