Nintendo Switch news: Forget Pokemon Let's Go, is Digimon Survive the next big Switch game

collected by :Syrena Smith

Announced earlier in the year, Digimon Survive will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and is due for release in 2019. The game will release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch and will break with tradition when it comes to Digimon titles. In Digimon Survive, the game is split into two distinct parts: a 'battle section' and a 'drama section'. The former part plays like a Strategy RPG (think Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics) and is likely why the game is called 'Digimon Survive'. A similar pair of games, called Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor and Devil Survivor 2, seem to share some development staff with the games, and also feature timed, strategic, grid-based combat.

Pokemon Let's Go Confirms Venusaur is a Toad, and I'm Ashamed I Didn't Notice Sooner

Did you know Venusaur, despite its name…is a toad? It's undeniable, though: New footage of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee shows Venusaur bounding behind its trainer like a big ol' froggy-thing. The Pokémon Company published new Let's Go footage (including Venusaur's new way to walk) early this morning in separate videos. "[The] 'Venusaur is a toad' crowd has been waiting for this moment for 20 years," PDLH stated in a follow-up tweet. Speaking of dinosaurs, I assumed Venusaur is of sauropod heritage because it's a large reptilian-looking quadruped with -saur right there in its name.

Pokemon Let's Go Might Have Mega Evolutions

A new toy listing suggests Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee for the Nintendo Switch might have Mega forms. Well gosh, Pokémon Let's Go, if you want to sell me on having an HD Mega Charizard X to boss around, you won't hear any objections from me. The Mega-evolved toy forms listed so far are Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Blastoise. While this isn't confirmation Mega-evolved Pokémon will be in Pokémon Let's Go, Tomy distributing Mega Pokémon toys in tandem with the game's release is quite a coincidence. Our Pokémon Let's Go guides contain everything you need to prepare yourself for your great big Pokémon adventure.
