Mysterious '???' in 'Pokémon GO' Is Likely A New Pokémon And Not A Glitch

as mentioned in When dataminers first found this little guy in Pokémon GO's files, it definitely didn't look like a new Pokémon. For about half an hour after Saturday's community day the weird little thing labelled only as '???' Releasing the new Pokémon in Pokémon GO would certainly be one way of doing that. This could also be from the upcoming mainline Pokémon games coming out for Switch in 2019. That seems unlikely, however, because that would mean that The Pokémon Company would be awkwardly leapfrogging its upcoming games in favor or publicizing later ones.
