Pokemon GO: How to Beat and Catch Tier 5 Mewtwo

collected by :Syrena Smith

With Deoxys replacing Mewtwo as the current EX raid boss, many Pokemon GO players now have their chance to battle and catch the legendary Psychic-type Mewtwo for the first time. This means type advantage is key against Mewtwo, perhaps more than most tier 5 raids. Psycho Cut + Focus Blast is the legendary's strongest move set, with Confusion representing a smaller threat and Psychic/Flamethrower not being seriously viable charged moves. However, it's worth mentioning that its catch rate has also been nerfed as it transitioned from EX raid boss to tier 5 raid boss. Still, with the use of this guide, players should be able to beat Mewtwo and eventually catch the Psychic legendary.

However, as part of the creature's transition from EX raid to regular raid, it appears the Pokemon will be much more difficult to catch. It's worth mentioning that the changes to its catch rate make sense though. As an EX raid boss, Mewtwo's catch rate – prior to other bonuses – was 9%. While it was easier to catch Mewtwo then than now, EX Raids were also much more difficult to get into. As a Pokemon GO regular raid boss, its catch rate is diminished to 2%, but his raids are easier to get into now than before.

Pokemon GO: Can Deoxys Be Transferred?

referring to Along with those safeguards come some restrictions on whether Mythical Pokemon can be transferred at all. Here's a look at the interaction on Twitter where Niantic Support confirms that Deoxys can in fact be transferred…Great question, Trainer! Deoxys will be able to be transferred to Professor Willow even though it's a Mythical Pokémon. ^KM — Niantic Support (@NianticHelp) September 24, 2018The main different here between Deoxys and the other Pokemon GO Mythical creature(s) is that Deoxys can be acquired multiple times and Mew can only be acquired once through the Mythical Discovery quest line. The ability to trade would give another opportunity to stock up on Deoxys Candy without burning through Rare Candy quite as quickly.

Pokemon GO: October Field Research Breakthrough Reward Revealed

As revealed by developer Niantic, part of the October festivities will include the addition of a new Field Research breakthrough reward in the form of the water-type legendary Pokemon Suicune. Following in the footsteps of Raikou and Entei, Suicune is the final legendary beast Pokemon that needed to make its Field Research breakthrough debut in Pokemon GO. Like with past Field Research breakthrough rewards, Pokemon GO players will need to earn seven stamps by completing seven Field Research objectives on different days to unlock the chance to catch Suicune. Field Research will be changed up a bit in October, as the objectives will revolve around water-type Pokemon. Besides the addition of Suicune to the Field Research breakthrough program, October will likely see other major events in Pokemon GO as well.
