Some copies have incorporated existing intellectual properties, such as Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters, into Pokemon Go's explore and collect gameplay. Instead, players embark on a spiritual journey centered around the Catholic religion in the faith-based mobile game called Follow JC Go! According to the BBC, players "collect" the characters they encounter by correctly answering the questions about the Catholic religion. It was developed shortly after the launch of Pokemon Go by Catholic Evangelical group Fundación Ramón Pané who wanted to reach players of all ages about their faith.

The new game "Follow JC Go" allows players to roam around town in search of saints and Biblical figures. "Never has the Church had a project like this … this is the Catholic app with the most advanced technology there is," said Argentinian Ricardo Grzona, executive director of the Foundation Ramon Pane. Big difference: Though "Pokemon Go" inspired the game, it doesn't include any gyms for players to train their saints.
