Find out which Pokémon is the best in competitive play

As it stated in In fact, when I first planned to write this article about the "best" Pokémon, I was only going to mention the Special Pokémon briefly before discussing other Pokémon. But it turns out that Special Pokémon are more permissible than they used to be in Pokémon's premier competitive format. Some Special Pokémon are more special than othersWhile all the Special Pokémon have overpowered states compared to standard Pokémon, some of them are more overpowered than others. The best Pokémon is less arguable if you care about resultsSo, obviously there's room for subjectivity in what you consider the best Pokémon, and many ways to define what makes a Pokémon the best. But if competitive dominance is your criteria, Primal Groudon is the best Pokémon — albeit a whisker ahead of its counterpart, Primal Kyogre.

Charmander is the best Pokémon of all time

When I met my first-ever Pokémon, Chary, he (or, technically, "it" — no genders in Pokémon Red!) He wasn't just my obligatory starter Pokémon, Charmander; he was my trusted, lifelong companion. I think it's because Charmander is the best Pokémon of all time, not just the best starter. It's the only Pokémon I'd ever consider starting Pokémon Red with, because it's my favorite Pokémon. But to me, Charmander is the best Pokémon of all time, and I'll never budge.

Pokémon Go's big rebalance nerfs some of the game's best defenders

as declared in Last night, Pokémon Go conducted a rare rebalance of its menagerie of monsters - a sweeping stat rework designed to target some of the toughest 'mons seen most commonly in gyms. Of course, being Pokémon Go, a bug saw the changes temporarily reverted. Nerfs for the above come alongside buffs for the majority of other creatures - including fan favourites such as Tyranitar, Dragonite, Gyrados, Gardevoir and Machamp. "It looks like Pokémon with identical Defense stats for both types in the core games (Defense and Special Defense) stay the same, and those with one higher than the other that decrease," Eurogamer's core series Pokémon nerd Chris Tapsell explained to me this morning. As soon as last night's changes are re-added, Gen 4 will be ready to launch.
