Last year's event saw the debut of Gen 3, and the year before that was the first event Pokémon GO ever held. Read on for all the bonuses and new stuff we'll be getting with Pokémon GO's third Halloween event. To start with, we've got double candy for all Pokémon catches, but no word on egg hatches or buddy distance. The only two special research tasks we've had so far were tied to mythical Pokémon, and so my best bet is Dakrai, a Gen 4 Dark-type mythical Pokémon that would fit the Halloween theme.

In an interesting piece of news, the crossover Pokémon Meltan can now evolve into the much larger and more potent Melmetal. In a new video (shown below), we get to see the recently announced Meltan Pokémon evolve into Melmetal. Considering that Meltan is a new Pokémon that promotes the crossover between Pokémon GO on mobile and the upcoming Pokémon: Let's Go! Meltan will only evolve into Melmetal in Pokémon GO and will need 400 Meltan Candies. Following that, you get Meltan Candies when you send Meltan from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let's Go!Pokémon GO's New 'Adventure Sync' Feature Is Flat-Out Game Changing

The developer just announced "adventure sync", a new functionality that will allow the game to track the distance you travel even when the game is idle. Adventure Sync works its magic by linking up to extant fitness apps on your phone like Apple Health and Google Fit. It incorporates the game into life on a much more complete level, which adds to the whole fiction of the game.
